In the Oromia region, 143 kebeles and towns that were out of service due to damage to the infrastructure due to security problems in all four Wolega zones got electricity service again.
It was also stated that the areas were without electricity service for up to 6 years.
The Ethiopian Electricity Service data indicated that the campaign to restore the service by repairing the damaged and destroyed electricity infrastructure is continuing.
In the repair work, 53 areas in East Welega Zone, 36 Kebeles in Horo Guduru Welega Zone, 35 areas in West Welega Zone and 19 Kebeles in Kelem Welega Zone were indicated to have regained the electricity service that they had lost for years.
