A consultation forum involving the government and the private sector was held to address the issues surrounding feminine hygiene products.
The Minister of Women and Social Affairs Ergoge Tesfaye (Dr.) emphasized that it is necessary to coordinate the activities that have been started to make sanitary products produced and accessible in the country.
In connection with this, the information of the Ministry indicated that the support of the stakeholders is expected for the project being designed and implemented by the French development organization.
Health Minister Dr. Maqdes Daba, on his part, mentioned that lack of hygiene can lead to health problems and emphasized that it is an issue that needs special attention.
It is said that the forum aims to identify the obstacles in the process of legal control, finance, distribution networks and awareness and communication and suggest solutions.
